What Exactly is a Social Enterprise?
Social enterprises are businesses, nonprofits, and worker owned cooperatives that put the community and the environment at the forefront of their work.
Social enterprise is not a binary, but rather a continuum. Some businesses prioritize social or environmental impact as central to their mission. Others may strive to incorporate social impact principles into their business model or their practices, through strategies like ethical sourcing of goods, and paying a living wage to all employees.
