In 2026, Social Enterprise Greenhouse proudly marks 25 years of catalyzing social impact through entrepreneurship. What began in 2000 as a bold idea has grown into Rhode Island’s leading hub for social enterprise, supporting thousands of entrepreneurs who believe business can be a powerful force for good.

This anniversary is more than a milestone. It is a yearlong celebration of the people, ideas, and partnerships that have shaped SEG and a recommitment to the work ahead.

Honoring the journey

Over the past 25 years, SEG has evolved alongside the social impact sector itself. From our early days as the Rhode Island chapter of Social Venture Partners to becoming Social Enterprise Greenhouse, the organization has consistently responded to the needs of entrepreneurs and communities. Along the way, SEG has helped launch and scale mission driven ventures, created pathways to capital, fostered deep mentorship networks, and built spaces where collaboration and innovation thrive.

As part of our anniversary year, we will be taking time to look back at this history and share the stories that defined it.
