Former SEG CEO Among Two New Additions to Board of Directors 

PROVIDENCE, RI – Social Enterprise Greenhouse (SEG) is proud to announce two new members of its Board of Directors. Local business leaders and members of the SEG family, Jim Cohill and Kelly (Ramirez) Stone were appointed last week, effective immediately.  

“Jim and Kelly are integral members of the SEG community, and innovators in the RI business world,” said Julie Owens, Chief Executive Officer of SEG, “We are excited to have their decades of experience on our leadership team, and look forward to using their expertise to nurture local entrepreneurs and expand our impact here in RI.”

Cohill is Director of Business Banking for New England at Citizens. He is an accomplished Business Banking Executive with more than 20 years in financial services. Together with 5 market managers and over 50 relationship managers, his team at Citizens serves a portfolio of over 10,000 business banking customers. He has been a member of SEG’s Loan Committee since 2022.

As a bank executive I’ve worked closely with small businesses for over 20 years, and I love the approach that SEG takes. Whether you are an entrepreneur with an idea, need help developing the plan to make it a business, or already established and looking for resources SEG has you covered,” said Jim Cohill. “I’ve had the opportunity to get to know some of the team at SEG and the passion to help small businesses in Rhode Island is second to none. I look forward to jumping right in and finding ways to help shape the future of small business in RI!”


Stone is Director of the Ryan Incubator at Providence College. She was CEO at Social Enterprise Greenhouse for over a decade, and has served on SEG’s Development Committee since 2023. Stone was an early leader and entrepreneur in the field of social impact, domestically and internationally. She has 20 plus years of experience and a successful track record in building complex problem-solving initiatives and organizations, from vision to strategy to execution.

“I am honored to serve on the SEG Board. I am inspired by the direction of the organization under the leadership of Julie Owens and am excited by the opportunity to work closely with the other board members, the team and the inspiring social entrepreneurs the organization supports,” said Kelly Stone. 

SEG’s Board of Directors is made up of 12 business and community leaders from around Rhode Island. Cohill and Stone are filling the seats of former board members who completed their terms in December.
