Social Enterprise Greenhouse Launches Navegador Program to Empower Spanish-Speaking Entrepreneurs
Continuing mission of cultivating impactful community partnerships to reach marginalized business communities

Providence, RISocial Enterprise Greenhouse (SEG), Rhode Island’s pioneering social impact support organization, is proud to announce the launch of the Navegador Program, an innovative initiative designed to equip Spanish-speaking entrepreneurs with the tools and resources they need to thrive in Rhode Island’s social impact space. Developed by SEG, the program reflects the organization’s deep commitment to fostering an inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem that supports sustainable business growth and positive community impact.

The Rhode Island Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is partnering with SEG to ensure the program’s success by leading outreach and recruitment efforts. Together, the two organizations will deliver a four-month program featuring expert mentoring, interactive focus groups, and a collaborative network of peers and advisors.

“SEG is deeply committed to creating pathways for all entrepreneurs to succeed, especially those from historically underrepresented communities,” said Julie Owens, CEO of SEG. “The Navegador Program is a powerful example of what can be achieved when we listen to the needs of the community and partner with organizations like the Rhode Island Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Together, we’re not just providing resources and mentorship; we’re fostering a vibrant, inclusive ecosystem where Spanish-speaking entrepreneurs can build thriving businesses that create meaningful, lasting impact in their communities.”

“Our partnership with SEG is a natural fit, as we both share a mission of fostering economic growth and opportunity,” said Oscar Mejias, CEO of the Rhode Island Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. “The Navegador Program is a testament to what we can achieve when we combine resources and expertise to uplift our entrepreneurs.”

The program offers tailored guidance to help entrepreneurs develop actionable growth plans, attract more customers, and scale their businesses sustainably. Participants will also gain access to valuable resources, one-on-one mentorship, and a community of like-minded peers.

“The Navegador Program is more than just a curriculum; it’s a community,” said Ruthy Rodriguez, Senior Manager of Outreach and Spanish Programs at SEG and creator of the Navegador Program. “We are building a supportive environment where entrepreneurs can learn, collaborate, and grow together, creating lasting impact in their industries and communities.”

Applications for the Navegador Program are now open and will be accepted through February 4, 2025. The first session is set to begin in March. Entrepreneurs interested in scaling their businesses and curious about creating positive social impact are encouraged to apply.
